Romy Kapoor, Attorney at Law
Romy comes by his enthusiasm for - and experience in - immigration law through his family. His father immigrated to the U.S. from India in the late 1950's. Later, he became an immigration attorney. Romy worked for his father's law practice through high school and undergraduate school at Georgia Tech. While Romy attended law school, he worked for his father as a Legal Assistant. Romy attended Georgia State University Law School and the Atlanta Law School, and earned the Juris Doctor degree in 1992. Shortly thereafter, he was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia. He then worked for his father's firm as an Associate Attorney for five years. By the time Romy opened Kapoor & Associates in 1998, he had already worked in the immigration field for 20 years.
Romy is an elected Director to the Board of Governors of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He has also served as a member of AILA's Department of Labor Liaison Committee. and is currently on AILA's Business Immigration Committee. Romy has also chaired and speaks regularly at Family-based Immigration and Employment-based Immigration seminars and conferences for AILA, the Practicing Law Institute, and the State Bars of Georgia and Florida.
Romy has been honored as a Georgia Superlawyer each year since 2006, and is listed as a Leading Business Immigration Lawyer in Chambers USA, the International Who's Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers, and The Best Lawyers in America.
Robert J. Lee, Attorney at Law
Robert was born in Roanoke, Virginia and grew up on a farm in nearby Max Meadows, as the son of immigrants from the Philippines (often wondering how in the world they ended up there on the farm!). He graduated from the McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and subsequently earned his B.A. from the University of Virginia. Robert then headed to Seattle, Washington where he earned his law degree from the University of Washington School of Law in 1995. He joined Kapoor & Associates in 1997 as a legal assistant before becoming an associate attorney in 1998. Robert left Kapoor & Associates to pursue other opportunities, but after spending a year back in Seattle he decided to return to Atlanta and resume his immigration law practice with Kapoor & Associates. Robert is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Washington State Bar Association, as well as the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
Severine Luther, Attorney at Law
Severine, a native of France, earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Law from the University Lille II in France, as well as a Master's degree in International Law from the University of Georgia. Severine is admitted to the State Bar of South Carolina. Severine is a native speaker of the Flemish and French languages. She joined Kapoor & Associates in March 1999, and became an Associate Attorney in January 2001. Severine is based out of our Orlando, Florida office.
Mary-Waite Faulconer, Attorney at Law
Mary-Waite, earned the Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law, and is admitted to the State Bar of Georgia. She has been practicing immigration law since 1990, and joined Kapoor & Associates in January 2004. Mary-Waite earned her undergraduate degree in Modern Languages/Spanish from the College of William and Mary, and is fluent in Spanish.
